4050 Apartments, a new affordable housing project designed for low income residents in West Philadelphia, is now taking tenant applications. Built on a former vacant lot, the complex contains 20 units specifically designed for artists, families, and others who live and work in the area.
Taller Puertorriqueño recently celebrated the grand opening of its new 24,000 square foot El Corazón Cultural Center, which operates as a community hub and gathering space. Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican and Latino neighborhoods, Taller is now the largest Puerto Rican/Latino arts and cultural organization in the state.
Wawa has officially opened their largest Philadelphia center city location at 1900 Market Street. The 7,000 square foot convenience store includes 25 bar seats and USB outlets so customers can charge their electronic devices.

People's Emergency Center has broken ground on 4050 Apartments, a US$5,604,000 20-unit apartment building that will offer affordable one-three bedroom apartments, live-work spaces for artists and a ground floor community room for art exhibition and education.
In partnership with Roselle Urban Renewal LLC, Allied has broken ground on the first phase of a new luxury apartment complex entitled The Park. This project will transform the old 60-acre Roselle Golf Club into a residential development complete with a 24-acre public park with pond.
State Senator Vincent Hughes and Mayor Michael Nutter joined the groundbreaking ceremony for the new construction of Centennial Village, which will offer affordable housing to seniors and special needs individuals. The complex will include a 30-unit apartment building, eight single family homes, one duplex, and vast commercial space.
Allied is proud to turnover this one-of-a-kind CVS Health Store prototype, complete with two minute-clinics. This store was finished with custom exterior wall panels. Work included demolition and environmental remediation of an existing car dealership and the construction of a block retaining wall.
Tajdeed Residences, a 45-unit affordable housing development located in North Philadelphia, is now open for tenants! The development consists of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and numerous amenities including, a vegetative roof system, gym, laundry room, community gardens, community room with computer lab and skyline views.
Taller Puertorriqueño broke ground on the El Corazón Cultural Center, soon to be the largest Puerto Rican/Latino-based arts and cultural facility in Pennsylvania. El Corazón will include classrooms, a multipurpose theater, event space, a café, an art gallery and a gift shop, in addition to outdoor spaces, including a playground, a terrace and an outdoor patio.
HEALTH AND HOUSING FAIR
Allied employees participated in the Hispanic Association of Contractors and Enterprises' eighth annual Fiesta Caribeñ, Health and Housing Fair. HACE's Housing Counseling Program helps improve the Eastern North and Lower Northeast communities in Philadelphia by proving comprehensive housing counseling services. This year's event raised more than US$21, 000.
Allied has turned over three of its 45 affordable family housing Energy Star rated units located in the South Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. Tajdeed Residences will consist of three structures encompassing an entire city block, including two, three and four bedroom apartments with balconies, parking, vegetative roof system, smart card laundry center, fitness room, computer lab, clubhouse and on-site management.
SALONS OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Adolf Biecker Salon located in Philadelphia has been recognized as one of 20 finalists in their 2015 Salons of the Year competition. The finalists showcase a new trend in salon decor where cool, clean and crisp design—punctuated with interesting pops of color through furniture and artwork—serve as the canvas for the artistry of hairdressing.

Refusing to be slowed down by the extreme winter weather this year, Allied crews continued to push the construction of the third and final building at this apartment complex. As a result, Allied has rolled into the spring season on pace to deliver these units months ahead of schedule.
After months of removing interior fixtures, drywall and asbestos contamination, Allied commences demolition of the former seven-story main building of Montgomery Hospital and the adjacent McShea building located in Norristown. Once all building material debris is cleared, Allied will begin the new construction of a proposed four story 50-unit senior apartment building with a senior adult day care building.
Allied completed this office building renovation to house El Concilio's new main headquarters. The location offers parking for clients, handicap accessible features, new offices, three private family visitation rooms, three workstations, meeting spaces, two computer labs and an educational programming center to accommodate after school programs.
Allied has just broken ground on our newest multi-family residential project! Tajdeed Residences, a 45-unit development consisting of 3 new three to four story buildings with a central courtyard, will be constructed on vacant and abandoned lots in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.
The Altman Group has broken ground on Anthony Wayne II Senior Housing facility, the second of three buildings planned in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia. The facility consists of 46 newly constructed units to add to the 36-units constructed as a part of the Anthony Wayne I project.
Allied served as the general contractor for the renovation of 132 apartment kitchens for Beckett Gardens Apartments, an affordable housing community with 1 to 3 bedroom apartments units in Philadelphia. Work included complete demolition, rewiring, plumbing and finishing of the interior space in less than 12 hours.
Allied turned over the first of 12 locker and equipment room renovations for Temple University Athletics. In an effort to give back to the community, Allied donated the original football lockers to a local school to be refurbished and reused for the school's youth football program.
